UN forced to halt Gaza operations, Zuckerberg says Meta ‘censored’ – Trending

UN humanitarian aid operations in Gaza were forced to stop on Monday.
A senior UN official said this was the result of the latest eviction orders from Israel on Sunday. The orders affect Deir Al Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The official said the UN had moved its main command operations for the Gaza Strip and most personnel to Deir Al Balah after Israel ordered Palestinians out of Rafah in the south of Gaza.
The UN said it has no plans to withdraw from Gaza.
Behind-the-scenes talks involving Iran halted greater escalation between Israel and Lebanon.
Arab and western political and diplomatic sources told The National that Arab mediators in the Gaza ceasefire talks have been increasing their exchanges with Tehran throughout negotiations.
After an intense exchange of fire over the weekend, Israel and Lebanon have downplayed the prospects of a wider conflict.
And Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said Meta faced pressure by the Biden administration to censor content.
Zuckerberg put his concerns in a letter to the House of Representatives judiciary committee in response to its investigation into content moderation on online platforms.
According to Zuckerberg’s letter, administration officials put pressure on the company to censor certain content about the coronavirus, including humour and satire.
